Alfredo R. Elizardo, Jr.

Funeral Services for Alfredo R. Elizardo, Jr., 77, of Brownfield will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father John Ohlig officiating. Burial will follow at Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:00 pm. 

Al was born on September 27, 1945, in York Town, TX, to Alfredo Munoz Elizardo and Rachel “Maria” Rosales Elizardo. He passed away August 12, 2023, in Lubbock. Throughout his career as a welder, Al demonstrated immense talent and proficiency in his work.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Al possessed a deep love for his hobbies and interests. He found solace in the art of fishing, often spending countless hours casting lines and cherishing the tranquility that nature provided. Music also held a special place in his heart; it was not uncommon to find him tapping along to the rhythm of his favorite tunes. However, above all else, Al cherished time spent with his family. Whether engaging in heartfelt conversations or simply sharing a meal together, he found happiness and fulfillment in their presence.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo Munoz Elizardo and Rachel “Maria” Rosales Elizardo; infant brother, Alfredo Elizardo, Jr.; sister, Angelita E. Arguellez; brother, Johnny Rosales Elizardo; and granddaughter, Kerstin Perez.

He is survived by 2 sons, Daniel Elizardo of Ft. Worth, Ernesto Elizardo and Becky Cruz of Brownfield; a daughter, Sylvia E. Perez and husband Mark of Brownfield; 4 brothers, Joe R. Elizardo and wife Connie of Amarillo, Porfilio R. Elizardo and wife Liz of Odessa, Fred R. Elizardo and wife Liz of Amarillo, and Jerry R. Elizardo and wife DeeDee of Oklahoma; 4 sisters, Teresa E. Rodriguez of Brownfield, Mary Lupe Tomlinson and husband Billy of Amarillo, Peggy Elizardo of Bryan, and Ruby Berlanga of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
