Alice Joyce Williams, 82, of Brownfield passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in Brownfield. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve Carter officiating.
Joyce was born on October 9, 1926 in Cooper to Leonard and Maxine Holt. She attended schools and graduated from Coolidge High School in Coolidge, Arizona. She then received an Associate's Degree in Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She married John Allan Williams on June 30, 1946 in Levelland. They moved to Brownfield in 1962 where she taught 4th and 5th grade in the late 70's. Joyce then taught in Union until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Eastern Stars where she was the Worthy Matron and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Joyce is survived by her husband John Allan Williams of Brownfield; her daughter, Deborah Williamson Marsh and her husband Carl of Brownfield; 3 grandchildren, Cary Williamson and his wife Crystal of Wolfforth, Susan Parks of Lamesa and Joshua Eric Kendrick of Three Rivers, TX; 6 great grandchildren and her sister Margie Winters of Coolidge, AZ.
