Services for Allie Mae Fugitt Bearden, 93, of Brownfield will be at 2pm, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at First Baptist Chapel with Rev. Randy Land officiating. Burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Allie passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock. She was born September 19, 1917 in Ben Hur, Texas to George and Lula Owens. She married Henry H. Fugitt on December 26, 1937 in Denton. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1975. For several years they lived in Waco and traveled across the state working in the cotton seed business. They moved to Brownfield in 1946. They owned two service stations in Brownfield, a Texaco then later a Gulf station. They worked together in those businesses. She then married James E. Bearden on December 29, 1979 in Brownfield. He also preceded her in death April 17, 2003. They did extensive travel throughout the United States and finally bought a place they loved in Cloudcroft, NM. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church where she taught a second grade Sunday school class.
Allie is survived by two daughters, Janie Rudisill and husband Wayne of Whitney and Diane Fulford and husband Loyd of Brownfield; a daughter-in law, Doris Fugitt of Lubbock; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Davis of Houston, Shanna Fugitt of Lubbock, Mark Fugitt of Cimarron, Kansas and Trent Rudisill of Houston; a step-granddaughter, Bridgette Snuggs of Austin and a step-grandson, Brian Fulford of Austin; a great grandson Justin Fugitt and two great granddaughters Macy Fugitt and Ja'nae Fugitt of Cimarron, Kansas. Allie is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, George Henry Fugitt in 2009; two sisters, Lorene Atwood and Opal Tusa; a brother Alton Owens.
