Memorial Service for Amaryllis "Marla" Floy Griffith Bryan will be held at 10 am on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Church On The Rock - South Campus (10503 Slide Road) in Lubbock.
Marla was born on June 25, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas to Therwin & Verna Griffith. She attended Caprock High School in Amarillo, before going on to serve in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. On March 18, 1973, she married Michael Ray Bryan in Hale Center, TX. The two would spend the next 50 years flying, working on airplanes, and traveling across the country; making memories and many friends along the way. Marla also attended Texas Tech University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts History degree.
If you knew Marla, then you knew her huge heart for Jesus, her family, and her country; and lived life to the fullest for each. After a hard fought, 12-year battle with various forms of cancer, Marla passed away in Brownfield, TX on February 11, 2024; surrounded by her family.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, and one brother, Gerald L. Griffith.
Marla is survived by her husband, Mike Bryan of Brownfield; two sons, David Kamont and wife Rochelle, of Lawton, OK; Alex Bryan and wife Rebecca, of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Billy Griffith of Allen, TX, and Terry Griffith of Amarillo, TX; one sister-in-law, Dustie Vibbard of Amarillo, TX; five grandchildren: Kayli Kamont, Issac Kamont, Emily Kamont, Chrislyn Bryan, and Corbin Bryan; along with many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Mars.
