Barbara Taylor Collier BROWNFIELD-1927 to 2012 Sept. 22, 1927, Barbara was born in Brownfield. She grew up there and graduated from Brownfield High School. She attended Texas Tech and Abilene Christian College. Barbara met Carrol, her husband and the love of her life, in Brownfield. They were married for 68 years, during which time they had three fine sons and were the owners of Brownfield Funeral Home. Barbara was a consummate wife and mother whose family flourished as they grew up in Brownfield. She was a wonderful cook, gifted seamstress and passionate knitter. After they retired, they moved to Ruidoso, N.M., the mountain village of her dreams. It was in Ruidoso that she suffered a massive heart attack and died on March 2, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents, John Edward Taylor and Lois Eubank McWherter. Survivors include her husband, Carrol of Ruidoso; sons, Craig Collier (Beth) of Brownfield, Chris Collier of Santa Fe, N.M., and Clark Collier of Ruidoso, N.M.; and grandchildren, Tiffany Bulgin of Salem, Ore., Crystal Collier of Albuquerque, N.M., and Conrad Collier of Santa Fe, N.M. Surviving siblings are Eddie Taylor (Martha) of Lubbock, Shaeron Moorhead (Mike) of Dallas, and Panze Roberts (David) of Charlotte, N.C., and many nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering of family and friends for a visitation celebrating the life and memories of Barbara in the parlor of 1st Baptist Church, Brownfield, on March 30, 2012, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
