Billy Ray Jones

Services for Billy Ray Jones, 89, of Brownfield will be held at 2 pm Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Jack Purtell officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Billy went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2021, in Lubbock. He was born on September 13, 1932, in New Home to Spencer and Mary Jones. Billy came from a big family of 5 brothers and 5 sisters. He farmed for 69 years in Terry, Gaines, and Yoakum counties. Billy married Wanda Burt Jones on May 31, 1952, in Plains. They were married for 66 years and on April 3, 2019, Wanda went to be with the Lord. Billy is preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda and his parents, Spencer and Mary Jones.

Billy is survived by 2 sons, Rodney Jones and wife Janie, Donny Jones and wife Pat; 9 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
