Services for Bobby Joe Jowers, 72, of Brownfield will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter, Rev. Henry Shelton and Rev. Johnny Long officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
He will be in state on Sunday from 2-5pm and Monday from 9-8pm.
Bobby Joe passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at his home in Brownfield among family and friends. He was born October 31, 1936 to Jasper and Ella Sue Jowers in Bryson, Texas. He married Clydos Ann Dill on January 13, 1954 in Brownfield. Bob was a welder and the inventor of the Jowers Sandfighter. He owned and operated Jowers Mfg. until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Terry County Cemetery Board for many years. Bob was known for his stories and jokes. He always had time to stop and talk. His greatest passion in life was his family. He was known to his friends as Bob and his family as Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Lavon, infant sister Shirley and his brother Bill Jowers.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Clydos Ann Jowers of Brownfield; 3 children, Billy Joe Jowers and wife Lydia of Brownfield, Bobby J. Jowers and wife Jill of San Angelo and Joanna Pinkert and husband Clyde of Brownfield; 8 grandchildren, Chris Jowers, Billy Pinkert and Clydos Pinkert of Brownfield, J’Bob Jowers and Bobbie Kite of Lubbock and Bronson Jowers, Annie Duran and Brody Jowers of San Angelo; 12 great-grandchildren, Jaycee, CJ, Kenzi and Morgin of Brownfied, Jakob, EJ, Braden and Bailey of San Angelo and Karson, Deryk, J'Leigh and K'Lynn of Lubbock. Pallbearers will be Chris Jowers, Bronson Jowers, Billy Pinkert, Brody Jowers, Toby Kite, Dr. Bolkar Sahinler, Bruce Smith and Jasper Jowers.
