Carolyn Bayer

Services for Carolyn Ruth Bayer, 82, of Meadow, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Meadow Church of Christ with Bob DuPont officiating and Alfredo Pineida and Neal Darling assisting. Interment will be at the Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

She passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, in Meadow.

Carolyn was born on August 25, 1935, in Girard, Texas to James C. White and Ruth King White. She graduated from Girard High School and attended Draughn's Business College. Carolyn married Albert Bayer on August 9, 1953, in Fort Sumner, NM. The couple owned and operated Bayer Lumber & Hardware Company in Meadow, TX for 40 years. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Albert; brother, Jim White; son, Alan Bayer, and great-granddaughter, Cambri Rowland.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Bayer of Levelland, TX and Brian Bayer (Karen) of Edmond, OK; daughter-in-law, Shirla Bayer of Meadow, TX; seven grandchildren, Matthew Bayer, Lynsee Moneymaker (Tim), Travis Bayer (Amanda), Bandi Norman (Justin), Beau Bayer (Rachel), Chad Bayer (Sarah), and Adam Bayer (Traci); seventeen great-grandchildren; and sister, Juanita Athena of Kansas City, MO.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Brownfield Funeral Home.
