Viewing for Charles F. Gore, 74, of Brownfield will be Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Brownfield Funeral Home from 10am-7pm. The family will have visitation from 5-7pm. Memorial services will be held at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, Texas, later this week.
Charles died suddenly Tuesday, March 11, 2008, in Brownfield. He was born November 26, 1933 in Comanche County to Charles Frank and Carrie Turner Gore. Charles attended Brownwood schools. He was a Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. He married Knoxie Brown, June 12, 1954, in Brownwood. They moved to Brownfield in 2006. He was employed with Atmos Energy for 35 years. He was a 25 year Volunteer Fireman in Lamesa, TX, and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in May, TX.
Charles is survived by his wife Knoxie of Brownfield; 3 sons, Todd Gore and his wife Barbie of Lubbock, Joey Gore of Niceville, FL, and Phillip Gore and his wife Jamie of Brownfield; 8 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Cathy Voder and her husband Bob of San Marcos and Carolyn Perkins and her husband Windell of Brownwood; a brother-in-law, Bill Brown and his wife Linda of Brownwood; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
