Christine Reid

Services for Avis Christine Reid, 95, of Brownfield will be held at 2pm, Friday, March 23, 2012 at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Venable and Rev. Ronnie Hedges officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

There will be a family visitation from 6-8pm Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Christine passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 in Brownfield. She was born June 5, 1916 to Charlie and Ethel Vest in Fisher County. She moved to Brownfield in 1922. Christine married Charles Reid on September 22, 1933 in Lovington, NM. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1995. She is also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Avis Shurley and Melba Shannon; a granddaughter, Charlotte Summers; 5 brothers and her parents. She was a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church.

Christine is survived by a son, Glen Reid and wife JoAnne of Brownfield; a sister Ozel Rowland of Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
