Memorial services for Colton Lee Burran, 23, of Brownfield will be at 11am, Thursday at Brownfield First Baptist Church with Dr. Carl Moman and Rev. Randy Land officiating. Private burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 6, from 5-7pm.

Colton passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 in Paron, Arkansas. He was born August 24, 1987 to Ronny and Gale Burran in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 2006 and from Howard Payne University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2009. He was a member of Sigma Theta Phi fraternity.

Colton was a White House Intern during the summer of 2007. Thereafter, he served as the Central Arkansas Field Representative for U.S. Senator John Boozman.

Colton was active in mission trips, traveling to numerous locations including Costa Rica. While attending college he was a member of the FCA, played drums for the church band and led a weekly bible study at Coggin Ave. Baptist Church in Brownwood. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Brownfield. Colton was an avid outdoorsman and athlete. He lived an exciting and passionate life, excelling at whatever he did. Colton is preceded in death by his grandfather, Everett Burran.

Colton is survived by his parents, Ronny and Gale Burran of Brownfield; a sister, Cara Simmons and husband Cody of Canyon; a brother, Casey Burran of Lubbock; a nephew, Addyson and 2 nieces, Brooklyn and Lily Belle; fiance', Catherine McKinney of Washington, DC.; paternal grandmother, Sammie Burran of Brownfield; maternal grandparents, Cletus and Joy Floyd of Brownfield; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family suggests donations to the Colton Lee Burran Memorial Scholarship Fund, %Lone Star State Bank, 301 W. Main Street, Brownfield, TX. or Brownfield First Baptist Church Youth Ministries.
