Coy Ldean was born on April 27, 1940, in Brownfield, TX, to Earl and Emma Hughlett. He passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 84.
Coy Ldean dedicated a significant part of his life to the service of his country as an aviation mechanic with the United States Air Force. Following his retirement from military service, he continued his passion for aviation by working with Lockheed Martin, where his expertise and dedication were widely respected.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Coy Ldean found joy in a variety of hobbies that revealed his creative spirit. He had a remarkable talent for woodworking and often spent his weekends nurturing his flower gardens, finding tranquility in the beauty of nature.
A true lover of the arts, Coy Ldean, expressed his creativity through his painting and an appreciation for poetry, often sharing his work with friends and family, allowing them a glimpse into his thoughtful and imaginative world. He will be remembered not only for his skilled hands but also for his gentle heart and supportive nature. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Coy Ldean is preceded in death by his wife, Opal "Tootsie" Hawkins; parents, Earl and Emma Hughlett; daughter, Rachel Hughlett; stepdaughter, Janeen Hackney; stepson, Guy McMahan; nephew, Mike Taylor; uncle and aunt, Ray and Opal Hughlett; brother-in-law, Elmer "Mitch" Mitchell; and best friends, Rals Low and Donnie Pinson.
Coy Ldean is survived by his wife, Kay Hughlett; daughter, Jenna Eilert and husband Donny; stepdaughter, Shareé Brandon and husband David; sons, Darron Hughlett and wife Rhea and Damon Wiseman and wife Shoni; stepdaughter, Krisinda Smith and husband Chris; stepson-in-law, Andy Hackney; stepson, Greg McMahan and wife Julie; stepdaughter-in-law, Claire McMahan; grandchildren, Lacie, Tallon, Bryan (Dagny), Alyssa (Houston), Drake, Chantry (Diana), Cody, Lynnli, Drew (Court), Jared, Kaden (Catherine), John, Bodie, Ronin, and Meg; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Dell Mitchell; nephew, Mark Taylor and wife Lisa; nieces, Laranda Eakin and husband Ron and Rene Bigham and husband Tregg; and numerous cousins and great-nephews and great-nieces.
