Donald Dean Duck Whitaker

Services for Donald Dean “Duck” Whitaker, 70, of Brownfield, will be held at 2pm Monday, September 14, 2015 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Seaton officiating.

Donald was born on April 21, 1945 in Dallas to William and Mildred Whitaker. He married Janice Whitaker on May 9, 1997 in Brownfield. He enjoyed fishing, listening to old music and tinkering with lawn mowers.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred Whitaker; a brother, Ronald Whitaker and 4 sisters, Gloria Reed, Norma Hill, Loise Gilbert and Joyce Overton.

Donald is survived by his wife Janice Whitaker of Brownfield; 4 children, Jamie Cook and husband Walter of Benbrook, Beverly Mendoza and husband Robby of Grandbury, Donald Vance Whitaker and wife Norma of Ft. Worth and Michael Whitaker and wife Marsa of Ft. Worth; 3 step-children, Jimmy Hare of Lubbock, Jody Hare of Dalhart and Shelly Hare of Gainesville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Alexander and husband Randy of Sundown and 2 brothers, Richard Whitaker and wife Loretta of Breckenridge and Roland Whitaker and wife DeAnn of Breckenridge.
