Dorothy M. Jackson, 81, of Brownfield went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 27, 2009 in Brownfield. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2009 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eugene Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Dorothy will be in state for viewing at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009. The family will have a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday as well.
Dorothy was born on June 15, 1928 to A.C. and Frances Mays. She was raised in Thrall, TX attending Lincoln High School. She married Fred L. Jackson on June 18, 1949 in Thrall, Texas. She was a member of New Life House of Praise Church and the Terry County Home Extension Club.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Fred L. Jackson of Brownfield; 4 sons, Fredrick Jackson of Brownfield, Ralph Jackson and his wife Tonya of Arlington, Hilton Jackson of Houston and Scott Jackson and his wife Jamie of Brownfield; 2 daughters, Diana Jackson and partner Ernest Boyd of Brownfield and Vanessa Hayward and her husband Charlie of New York; her grandchildren, Jessica Jackson of Lubbock, Jaxon Boyd and Jarys Boyd of Brownfield, Wesley Hayward and Reno Hayward of New York and her step grandchildren, Broderick and James Robinson of Michigan, Matthew Cuypers of Minnesota, Christopher Cuypers of Minnesota, Alicia Cuypers of Arlington, Amber Depriest of Minnesota, Miles Lerraan of Arlington, Kacy Altum of Brownfield and Kimber Altum of Brownfield.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to a charity of ones choice.
