Dortha Ellen Marsh

Services for Dortha Ellen Marsh, 82, will be held at 2pm Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Brownfield Church of Christ with Bob Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Dortha passed away October 30, 2016 in Odessa. She was born February 12, 1934 in Floydada to James Abney Sr. and Etta Stephens Abney. She graduated from Brownfield High School and then went on to get her LVN. She married Carl Leon Marsh on May 24, 1952. Dortha was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ for over 70 years. She was the family anchor. Everything that happened with the family happened at her house.

Dortha is preceded in death by her parents, James and Etta Abney; husband, Leon Marsh; son Kenneth Lee Marsh; and three brothers.

Dortha is survived by her son, Carl James Marsh and spouse of Odessa; a sister, Lillie Mae Willis of Lubock; two grandchildren, Michelle Sorensen of Gardendale, Carl James Marsh Jr. of Lubbock; and three great grandchildren, Hadley Dean, Clyle James and Wyatt Rawley Sorensen all of Gardendale.
