Funeral services for Franklin Eugene Griffing will be held at 10 am Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Bob Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Eugene passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, in Lubbock. He was born April 16, 1933, in Ovalo to Norris Alexander and Denara Griffing. Eugene graduated from Amherst High school. He married Dorothy Eunice Phillips on November 24, 1959, in Clovis, New Mexico. Eugene was the Postmaster in Meadow and a member of the Brownfield Church of Christ. Eugene is best described by 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, "4Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8Love never fails."
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eunice Griffing, parents, Norris and Denara Griffing, and was the last of 11 brothers and sisters. He is survived by two sons, Don Griffing and wife, Brenda, Jimmy Griffing and wife, Kendra; and five grandchildren, Kelly, Trevor, Tehya, Jon Luke, and Jasmine.
