Mrs. Fannie Trucene George, 89, of Brownfield went to be with her Lord on May 24, 2017. Visitation will be held at Brownfield Funeral Home on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Celebration of life will be held at Brownfield First Baptist Church, at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 27th, 2017, with the Reverend Dr. Matt Baird officiating.
Mrs. George was a longtime resident of Brownfield and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was born in Abilene, TX and moved with her family to Terry County in 1930 at the age of 2. She graduated from Wellman High School. In 1948, she married her childhood sweetheart, Dale, a union which lasted over 69 years. Before her marriage, Mrs. George worked for AT&T as a telephone operator and after raising her children worked at Fields and Main Place Fashions. Mrs. George was preceded in death by her parents, Newton Amos Lindsey and Fannie Buchanan Lindsey, her sister, Mrs. Geraldine Lindsey Davis, and her grandson, Scotty George.
Mrs. George is survived by her husband, Dale George of Brownfield, daughter, Shauna George of Brownfield, son, Scott George of Lubbock, grandchildren, Stormy George of Lubbock and Sterling George of Lubbock, sister, LaMoine Abernathy of Gainesville, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
