Fay Marie King passed away peacefully at her home on September 11, 2023, at the age of 95, surrounded by family members during her final moments.

Born on May 5, 1928, in Loraine, TX, Fay Marie was the daughter of Leonard McCoy and Ida (Turnbow) Lang. She spent her entire life in Terry County, Texas, becoming a well-respected figure in the community. She married the love of her life, Herbet Lee "Hub" King on May 15, 1946 in Brownfield. They loved the land and spent their married life farming and raising their family.

Fay was known for her generosity, family-oriented nature, and humble demeanor. She never sought credit or attention for herself. She had a natural gift for teaching, and was the co-founder of the Thursday School at the Church of Christ. She served as a board member for the Terry County Heritage Museum and was involved in World Bible School, as a 4-H leader, and was a Bible teacher for the Church of Christ.

In addition to being a nurturing homemaker, Fay Marie was a very creative person and enjoyed sewing and cooking. Her pecan pie and banana nut bread were legendary, and she lovingly baked biscuits daily for her family.

Fay Marie leaves behind a lasting legacy and will be deeply missed by her children and their families. She is survived by her son, Walter King, and his wife Jo Nell of Brownfield, and her daughters Katherine Brimberry and her husband Mike of Austin, Glenda King Ramee and her husband Keyes of McAllen, and Jena Shepherd Banta and her husband Mike  of Lubbock. She was a beloved grandmother to Matthew Alan Brimberry, Anna Brimberry Crelia, Laura Ramee Flores, Ross Shepherd, Doug Shepherd, Lukas Silar King, Jacob King, and Aaron King, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren. Fay Marie is also survived by her nephew Kyle David King and nieces Patty Jo Snyder and Paula Martin, along with their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Leonard Lang, her loving husband Herbert (Hub) King, her son Kirk Douglas King, her grandson Daniel Leonard Brimberry, and her granddaughter Sarah Jane Shepherd.

Fay Marie's gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her many contributions to the community will always be remembered and cherished. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
