Private services for Frances King, 97, of Brownfield will be at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Seaton officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Frances passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Lubbock. She was born September 4, 1912 in Telephone, Texas to J.H. and Nancy Carpenter. She graduated from Brownfield High School. Frances married James Brown King on March 16, 1931 in Tahoka. He preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1992. She is also preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Tanya Melton and great grand-daughter, Amber Melton. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and First Presbyterian Church.
Frances is survived by a son, Jerry B. King and wife Sharron of Port Orchard, WA; a daughter, Nancy Howard of Brownfield; 4 grandchildren, J. Brent King of Spokane, WA, Jack Harlan of Temecula, CA, Maribeth Lyon of Lubbock and Kenneth Harlan of Lubbock; 5 great grandchildren.
