Gary Don Brashears

August 18, 1958 — October 5, 2024

Funeral Service for Gary Don Brashears, 66, of Brownfield, will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Brownfield First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Gary was born on August 18, 1958, in Spokane, WA, to Tommy and Pat Brashears. They later moved back to Texas and settled in Wellman, where Gary went to school.

Throughout his life, Gary used his creative talents - from his love of computer design and technology to gardening, building, decorating, and even his passion for creating the most beautiful Christmas trees ever! Gary absolutely loved Christmas and was known for filling every room in his home with beautiful, ornate Christmas trees. He was especially proud of his tree, which bore more than 400 Waterford Crystal ornaments. You could also count on the presents that Gary wrapped being the most beautiful ones under the tree. His latest passion was his hobby of bee-keeping and harvesting the honey they created.

Gary had a wonderful sense of humor and was the most loyal person you could find. If you knew Gary, he was your friend for life! After moving back to Brownfield from Washington State, Gary found joy in helping people through his work at Brashears Home & Land Realty, as well as working alongside his mom. He cherished all of his friendships and enjoyed every moment spent with family and friends, especially his Sunday School class.

Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Kenya George Menix; his nephew Scotty George; his grandparents, D.C. and Renee Floyd and Sherman and Laura Brashears; and most recently, his father, Tommy Brashears.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Pat Brashears; his brother, Rodney Brashears (Robin); and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
