Memorial Service for Gary Don Liles, 48, of Brownfield, will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Brownfield Funeral Home. Gary passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. He left this world way too early.
Gary was born on December 12, 1975, in Odessa, TX, to Charley Robert Liles of Monahans, TX, and the late Susan Heath of Brownfield, TX. Gary is the youngest of two sons born to Charley and Susan.
Gary started off his working career as a ditch digger, spent years learning other honorable skills to later become an electrician and an instrument technician, and ended his life as a solar technician. Gary was always learning, evolving, and crafting his skills to be a better person.
Gary married Samantha Bailey in September 2017 after a long, very long engagement of over 20 years. They shared a life together for almost 30 years. Their lives revolved around animals and helping others. Gary had a large love to help all animals, to save them, and give them a home of love and affection. He donated and contributed time, money, and love to many animal charities as it was his big passion.
Gary was a brother to many and a friend to all. He was the life of any get-together with his bigger-than-life personality. Gary was faithful to his family and always tried to be an example to his nieces and nephews. He always tried to make any interaction with him and his family a fun experience that would later become a fond memory. Gary was the FUN Uncle.
The Brotherhood of Friends was another thing Gary felt strongly about, and he helped everyone he could.
Gary's lifelong best friend would be his brother, Bobby Liles. "Gary and Bobby" is the way they were referred to by many and thought of together. Close in bond and often mentioned as one unit.
Gary is survived by his wife, Samantha Bailey of Brownfield; brother, Bobby Liles (wife - Trista); his father, Charley Robert Liles (wife - Virdie); father-in-law, Maurice Bailey of Brownfield; sister, Brandi Shoemaker (husband - Thomas); and brother, Everett Holt of Florida; along with many nieces and nephews.
