George Edward Duran, 76, of Brownfield died on Monday, June 2, 2008 in Brownfield.

He was born on December 3, 1931 in Sayre, Oklahoma to George Fowler and Lenella Lea Duran. He attended schools in Victoria, TX. He was a veteran of the United States Air Fore. He married Darlene "Bobby" Winters on May 2, 1953 in Portland, Oregon. They moved to Brownfield in 1968 where he was employed with KKUB radio station for a number of years. He then worked as a police officer for the Brownfield Police Department until his retirement in 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie of Brownfield; 2 daughters, Beth Smith and her husband Brian of Brownfield and Chere Duran of Albuquerque; 3 grandchildren, Hollie Denton of Austin, Shilo Fonseca of Albuquerque, and Alex Fonseca of Albuquerque; a brother, John Duran and his wife Opal of Weatherford; and a sister, Deanna McKamie and her husband Ralph of Prescott, Arkansas.
