Services for Georgia Mae Wilson Terry, 71, of Brownfield will be at 10:00 am, Monday, March 23, 2009 at First Christian Church with Rev. Ruby Moultrie officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00pm Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Era Cemetery in Era, Texas.

The family will receive friends Sunday March 22, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Brownfield. She was born February 28, 1938 in Era, Texas to George S. and Lena Wilson. She graduated from Era High School. She then attended Cooke County Jr. College and earned her Associate of Arts degree. Georgia completed her education at the University of North Texas receiving a B.S. Degree. Georgia taught elementary school in Brownfield for 33 years. She was a member of PTA, Texas State Teachers Assoc., National Education Assoc., VFW Ladies Aux and the Ladies Golf Association. Georgia married Sam Terry on August 19, 1965 in Brownfield. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2006. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Morgan Wilson in 1988 and a step-son, David Lee Terry in 1980.

Georgia is survived by her twin sister, Mary George Wilson Beyer of Lubbock; her nephew, Harold Morgan Wilson, II of Bryan Texas; her niece, Mary Elizabeth McClanahan and her husband of Shepherd, TX; her sister-in-law, Mary Beth Wilson of Bryan, and Georgia's extended family; Janie Greenway, Joy Wempe, the family of Frankie and Don Hendley including their daughters Melody, Melinda and Malaine and their families. Georgia Mae considered Freda and Tim Hales as her family of choice. She was also awarded an honorary life membership in the beloved MeeMaw and PawPaw Caswell family.

The family suggests memorials to the Animal Shelter Improvement Committee, in care of Barbara Lawlis, 1713 Carter Drive, Brownfield, TX. 79316.
