Gravela DeLeon Leija

Gravela DeLeon Leija, of Brownfield, Texas, passed away on May 15, 2023 at the age of 77. She was born on November 30, 1945 in Stockdale, Texas, to Ignacio and Jacinta DeLeon. She is one of 10 brothers and sisters.

Viewing will be held at the Spanish Foursquare Church in Brownfield beginning at noon on Saturday, May 20, 2023, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location at 2:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate the life of this amazing woman.

Gravela had a passion for spending time with family, especially visiting her brothers and sisters, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She always puts others' needs before her own. Gravela truly loved all of her family members and maintained close relationships with each of them throughout her life.

Gravela is survived by her sons Larry Leija (Lena), Nick Leija (Amy), David Lee Leija, and Roger Joe Leija. Nine grandchildren; Justin Leija, Nick Leija II, Malachi Leija, Jocalyn Leija, and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers Valentino DeLeon and Rosendo DeLeon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters; Alice Zaragoza, Elvira Rodriguez, Eloise Martinez, Vickie Leija, Oralia Lopez, and two brothers; Ygnacio DeLeon Jr and Eliseo DeLeon.

Gravela DeLeon Leija was beloved in life and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us physically, we remember the joyous times shared together throughout her life.
