Services for Guadalupe Tijerina, 65, of Brownfield will be held at 10am, Monday, February 27, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Visitation and Rosary will be Saturday and Sunday from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.
Guadalupe passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 in a Lubbock Hospital. He was born September 27, 1946 in Brownfield to Jose and Francis Tijerina. He was self employed. Guadalupe married Julia Trevino on March 25, 1963 in Lubbock. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by a stepson, Martin Flores.
Guadalupe is survived by his wife Julia of Brownfield; 3 sons, Juan Carlos Tijerina, Marco Antonio Tijerina, and Michael Lee Tijerina and wife Tina all of Brownfield; a daughter, Janie Gongora and husband Michael of San Angelo; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 5 sisters, Anita Romero, Mary Gonzales and husband Raymond, Vera Jimenez and Dora Cantu all of Brownfield, and Delia Barnhart and husband Felix of Ballinger; 2 brothers, Robert Cantu of Brownfield and Carlos Tijerina and wife Melinda of Bakersfield, CA.
