Services for Beauford “Homer” Bearden, 82, of Brownfield will be 10am, Friday, August 19, 2011 at Brownfield First Baptist Church with Dr. Carl Moman officiating. Burial will be held at Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors Thursday at the Funeral Home from 6-8pm.
Homer passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in Lubbock. He was born on November 26, 1928 to Ruben and Oma Bearden in Abernathy. He attended Plains Schools. He moved to Brownfield in 1947. Homer married Ellen Hill on August 13, 1949 in Brownfield. He was a farmer in Terry County. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a 50 year member of the Brownfield Lodge. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, James, R. S. Jr. and Morris; a sister, Naomi Smith.
Homer is survived by his wife Ellen of Brownfield; a son, Rod Bearden and wife Anna of Brownfield; 2 daughters, Phyllis Bowman and husband Wayne of Lubbock and Terri Bloys and fiancée Charlie Opperman of Lubbock; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ray Bearden of Tokio and Daine Bearden of Brownfield; a sister, Kathyleen Walser of Brownfield.
