Services for Ignacio M. Martinez, 83, of Brownfield will be at 10am, Monday, July 15th at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery.
Ignacio will be in state at the funeral home from noon-8pm on Saturday and Sunday. Rosary will be from 6-7pm on Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home chapel.
Ignacio passed away on July 11, 2013 in Brownfield. He was born on December 10, 1929 in Lockhart to Jim and Elisa Perez. He moved to Brownfield in 1957. Ignacio then married Maria Campos on March 17, 1958 in Brownfield. In the 60’s he began working for the City of Brownfield until retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed caring for his yard and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by parents; 2 brothers, Emilio Perez & Paul Perez; 2 sisters, Maria Leija and Teresa Hernandez; a daughter, Juanita Rivera; a son, Johnny Martinez; 2 granddaughters, Kristina Cruz and Monica Longoria; a grandson, Marcus Martinez.
Ignacio is survived by his wife, Maria Martinez of Brownfield; 4 sons, Joe Martinez and Freddy Ramirez of Brownfield, Octaviano Ramirez and Raymond Martinez of Houston; 5 daughters, Josie Martinez, Mary Sepeda and Norma Antuna of Brownfield, Beatriz Rossette of Lubbock and Brenda Martinez of Sweetwater; 29 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
