James Harold "Ted" Moore, 82, of Brownfield passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at his home. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Patrick officiating.
Ted was born on March 22, 1928 in Elkhart, TX to Jim and Gladys Moore. He joined the United States Navy in 1946, serving until 1949. He married Dorthy "Dodie" Fair on October 10, 1975 in Fort Worth. He worked for Berry Cigar and Candy Co. for 25 years before retiring with the United States Postal Service. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Optimist Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and his step-daughter.
Ted is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dodie Moore of Brownfield; 2 daughters, Sydnee Bertucci and husband Paul of Brownfield and Amy Moore of Dallas; his son, Royce Moore and wife Maxine of Austin; 2 stepsons, R.L. Smith and wife Renee of Cleburne, TX and Brent Smith and wife Leona of Ft. Worth; his stepdaughter, Jan Rotenberry and husband Michael of Midland; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
