Jeremiah Mendez

It is with great sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our sweet Jeremiah Cale Mendez, 18, from Brownfield, TX. Jeremiah took his life Thursday, September 10, 2020. He was born March 22, 2002, in Lubbock, TX to Tomas and Kelli Mendez. Jeremiah was a 2020 BHS graduate, all-state band member, dedicated athlete; proud Brownfield Cub.

Those left to cherish his precious memory are his parents, Tomas and Kelli Mendez; brothers, Christopher Benavidez (Sonia), Isiah, Justin; sisters, Rebekah (Andrew), Selene (Jeremy), Ashley (Adrian), Elizabeth; grandmothers, Maria Ramirez, Sedora Anderson; sweet nieces and nephews, Alexandrea, Sean, Jacob, Zoey, Zaven, Andee, and Zaley; countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, so many friends. Jeremiah is preceded in death by his grandfather, Pedro Mendez, and grandmother, Nell Coder.

The Mendez family would like to say to the young people of this community, if you or anyone you know is suffering, needing a shoulder to cry on, contemplating hurting yourself or suicide please please reach out. Services for Jeremiah will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Brownfield. Burial will follow in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

A family visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday, September 14, 2020, at Brownfield Funeral Home.
