Jerry D. Cox, 78, of Brownfield passed away on Friday, January 15, 2010 at his home. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Patrick and Rev. Steve Carter officiating.
Jerry was born on February 19, 1931 in Refugio, TX to G.W. and Zelda Cox. He attended schools in Littlefield. He married Billie Jean Fair on October 9, 1955 in Littlefield. They moved to Brownfield together where he drove a truck hauling produce for City Fruit Stand which they owned and operated for over 40 years. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he will be greatly missed. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, George Cox and his siter, Pat Price.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Billie Cox ; 3 daughters, Brenda Brown and her husband Dwayne, Donna Tucker and her husband Ray and Teresa Carr and her husband Charlie all of Brownfield; 8 grandchildren, Lan and Justin Moody, Chris, Cody and Kelly Tucker, and Jessica, Colton and Katie Jo Carr; 3 great grandchildren; his brother, Sammy Cox and his wife Dean of Brownfield and his sister, Peggy Holly and her husband Larry of Edgewood.
Memorial Donations may be made to NurseCare Hospice of Lubbock and Immanuel Baptist Church.
Jerry will be in state at the funeral home from 12-8pm Sunday. The family will receive visitors from 2-4.
