Jonas passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 doing what he loved - helping his best friend.
Jonas Garcia was born on January 25, 1959 to Victor Garcia and Fransisca Cruz Garcia in Brownfield, TX. He met and married the love of his life, Patricia Piedra, on February 21, 1990, and together they share seven children.
Jonas worked in the oil field for over 40 years. Even after retirement, he always helped family and friends with various jobs. He loved spending his free time with family - camping, bbq-ing, jamming to Los Garcia Brothers, and watering his yard, which he took lots of pride in. He never met a stranger and always turned a quick store trip into a 2-hour visit, talking to everyone he saw. He was known to be a jokester or would give you a hard time just to end up making you laugh - leaving a lasting impression to be remembered.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Maria Saucedo; his brother, Victor Garcia, III; and 2 nephews, Robert Suacedo and John Garcia.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; 3 sons, Jonas Garcia, Jr. (Randi), Augustine "Augy" Garcia, and Eirain Vieras, all of Brownfield; 4 daughters, Marie Haggerty (Doug) of Virginia, Tina Gomez (Joe) of Brownfield, Shantel Moreno (Mac Jr.) of Brownfield, and Jannie Vieras of Brownfield; and his best friend of over 30 years, Silvestre "Silver" Muñoz. He had 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren which he loved playing around with. They include: James, Jaydus, Nevaeh, Lailanie, Jurnie, Vanity, Zeriah, Kamiah, Jay, Gabriel, Lorenzo, Evelyn, Genessa, David, Jojo, Paloma, and great-grandchildren, Koda and Vida. Every single one was his pride and joy!
