Joseph Timothy Strange

Graveside Services for Joseph T. Strange, 86, of Brownfield will be at 11:30 am Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Memorial services for Joseph will be held at 2pm that afternoon at Brownfield First Baptist Chapel with Randy Land and Dan Martin officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Joseph was born on November 3, 1927 to Joseph Timothy Strange Sr. and Nancy Tanner in Vici, Oklahoma. He graduated from Electra High School and then Southwestern Theological Seminary. Joseph married Janice Sullivan on May 15, 1970 in Vernon. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Joseph is preceded in death by his first wife, Blanche Evelyn Nevels on April 30, 1969, parents, Joseph and Nancy Strange, sister, Rena Taylor, and brother, Amos Strange.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Janice Strange of Brownfield; a son, Rodney Strange of Brownfield; a daughter, Sandra Wall and husband, Dana, of Electra; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Carroll Edwin Strange of Augusta, GA; a niece, Colleen Martin and husband, Dan, of Dallas.
