Juan was born on October 26, 1953, in Alice, TX, to Juan De Dios Zamora Jr. and Dora Zamora. He passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 71.
Juan deeply loved his family and cherished every moment with them. He was known for his innate wisdom and remarkable ability to connect with those around him. Juan had a rare gift for listening, and friends often found themselves drawn to his gentle nature, sharing their stories and seeking his advice. Never one to meet a stranger, he treated everyone he encountered with kindness.
Though he had a serious side, Juan’s infectious sense of humor brought joy and laughter to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He truly loved life's simple pleasures and could often be found dancing to Tejano music, fishing peacefully by the water, or passionately cheering on his favorite football teams. Juan was a master at barbecuing and enjoyed sharing it with family and friends. When he wasn’t spending time with friends and family, he cherished the company of his beloved dog, Boy.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Juan De Dios Zamora Jr. and Dora Zamora. He is survived by a son, Raymond Zamora; 3 daughters, Cassandra Bazan of Rio Grande City, Tessa Sanchez of Floydada, and Carissa Urias (Kenny) of Midland; a brother, Tony Zamora (Sylvia) of Brownfield; 4 sisters, Diana Guzman (Adam) of Lubbock, Sylvia Quintanilla (Frank) of Ropesville, Teresa Gonzales (Jose) of Brownfield, and Vera Vega (Robert) of Hale Center; 13 grandchildren, Randy Zamora, Roland Zamora, Alyssa Zamora, Meagan Zamora, Nicholas Zamora, Devin Loa, Madison Loa, Anyssa Sanchez, Ariana Sanchez, Jathan Sanchez, Kensley Urias, Phoenix Urias, and Griffin Urias; and a great-granddaughter, Everly Sanchez.
