Laura Mae Odom Clark was born to Jesse Aaron and Eula Mae (Frizzell) Odom on June 20, 1933. She was born in Blair, OK, but later moved to Brownfield, TX, where she graduated from Brownfield High School in 1951. Laura married Lonnie Dwain Clark in 1954, raising four cherished children in Brownfield, TX.

Devoted to her faith, family, and community, Laura served in many capacities at First Baptist Church. She particularly enjoyed youth and teen ministry where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Laura hosted her large family, friends, and friends of friends often. Her community benefited from her willingness to volunteer. Laura had the vision to see what needed to be done and the skills and energy to achieve. Laura loved to sew and her needlework was artistry. After raising children, Laura achieved her real estate and insurance licenses, working in the professions and many others during her lifetime. She was a curious one, pursuing and accomplishing many interests.

Laura is survived by her children, Dean Clark, Kim White (Robert), Till Tatum (Mac), and Clay Clark; and siblings, Arlan Odom, Kay Jeffries, and Bobby Odom. Laura was known to many as “Honey” but especially by her grandchildren, Deneé Clark Nelson (Lanier), Kristopher Clark (Cori), and Kristyn Clark; her great-grandchildren, Layla Clark and True Nelson; and many adored nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jesse Aaron, Jr. Odom, Troy Bryan Odom, James “Jimmy” Odom, and Winston Odom; and sister, Linda Odom.

The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the Treasured Times ministry at First United Methodist Church, Lubbock, TX. Laura was blessed to have been a participant.
