LaVerne Cameron Marshall of Dallas, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. LaVerne was born to Tom and Belva Cameron in Roby, Texas on July 16, 1927, and grew up in Brownfield, Texas. After her marriage to Troy Marshall, she lived in Newport News, Virginia while he served overseas in World War II. After the war, they moved to Lubbock and then in 1965 moved to her beloved Lake Highlands neighborhood where she lived the rest of her life. She was a long time member of Dallas First Assembly of God and cherished visiting her many friends and family and being a grand mommy. Her many hobbies included garden club activities, painting, crafting and watching her Dallas Cowboys. She was much loved wherever she went and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Judy and Steve Cole; granddaughters, Haley and Allison Cole; sisters, Lillian Haynes and Glenda Cameron; niece, Teresa Hassler; nephew, Joe Don Haynes; great nieces Kaitlyn, Ashley, Bailey, and Emily Hassler.
The family will receive friends at noon on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Brownfield Funeral Home in Brownfield, Texas with graveside services in Terry County Memorial
Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. The family will have a celebration of her life at 3:00 pm at Judy and Steve Cole’s home in Dallas on Sunday, March 9, 2014.
