Leonel Marquez Garcia

Funeral services for Leonel Marquez Garcia will be held at 10am Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Teo officiating. Burial will follow in the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

There will be a rosary at 5pm Monday, January 16, 2017 at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Leonel passed away January 13, 2017 in Lubbock. He was born May 18, 1942 to Juan and Maria Campos Garcia in Bachiniva, Chihuahua, Mexico. He married Maria Lucila Tovar on October 10, 1965 in Bachiniva, Mexico. They have lived in Brownfield for the last 40 years. Leonel farmed his whole life. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Garcia and son, Luis Leonel Garcia.

Leonel is survived by his wife, Lucy Garcia of Brownfield; four children, Teresa Barraza of Brownfield, Rodrigo Garcia of Lubbock, Cindy Breedlove of Brownfield, Jessica Coronado of Brownfield; seven grandchildren, Luis Miguel Garcia of Brownfield, Brianna Barraza of Lubbock, Christian Garcia of Amarillo, Aungelique Martinez of Brownfield, Lauren Garcia of Wolfforth, Christopher Garcia of Wolfforth, Izzy Breedlove of Brownfield; great grandchild Javier Garcia of Brownfield; mother, Maria Garcia; three brothers and one sister all of Brownfield.
