Leslie loved fiercely and was known for her loyalty and acceptance of those who were blessed enough to be in her life. No one ever felt like an outcast when she was around. She never felt like a child of divorced parents; she felt that she was blessed by all of the bonus family members. Leslie felt that she was the fortunate or “lucky one” for having this wonderfully large, blended family unit, but those of us who remain here know that we are truly the fortunate ones. We will miss her famous chicken casserole, her rice casserole, her cherry dessert, and her sweet tea. Leslie has touched so many lives beyond what mere words could ever express.
Leslie was born March 22, 1962, in Hobbs, New Mexico to parents Nancy and James Hardison. She grew up living in Brownfield Texas loving her parents Roy and Nancy Foster and her brother Dee. She attended school in Brownfield which has been her lifelong home. Roy and Nancy took in many family members over the years and most notably obtained guardianship of three orphaned cousins: Eddy Williford, Edie Williford, and Richard Williford; although raised as her siblings Leslie was instrumental in their upbringing above and beyond a mere sibling relationship.
Leslie was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Foster; father, James Hardison; father, Roy Foster; father-in-law, Melvin Carroll; mother-in-law Faye Carroll; and brother Richard Williford along with so many other beloved family members. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Carroll; daughter, Sharlon Webb and son-in-law, Lance Webb; her son, Patrick Carroll and daughter-in-law, Veronica Carroll; brother, Dee Foster and sister-in-law, Donna Foster; brother Eddy Williford, sister, Edie McFadden and brother-in-law, Aaron McFadden; & Sister-in-law Jeanette Redwine: grandchildren Kevin Thomas, Christian Harper, Ethan Harper, Dylan Webb, Seth Harper, Zoe Webb, Jayden Carroll, Mason Webb, Cheyanne Wright, Daniel Carroll; great grandchildren Kacen & Salem Thomas, Jeremee, Ciel, & Aeryx Harper, Creed Harper, Greyson, Haven, and baby boy Webb, Johnathan, Freya, & Oliver Harper, Cadence Strickland & Kylie Jones, nieces Stacie Redwine, Cressie & Elizabeth Foster, and Nephew Bart Foster.
Her greatest passion in life was caring for her family. Being a loving and devoted wife to her husband Jerry and raising her children, Sharlon and Patrick was only the beginning. Her impact on the world is evident in the abundance of love, care and compassion that she was able to provide her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Leslie loved her pets, camping, family gatherings, horses, western movies, and most of all she loved to laugh. She was the glue that held our family and friends together, often the “life of the party” while also guiding others as the calming voice of reason which is a unique skill that will be dearly missed.
When you remember me, I hope what you’ll think of is [how you want to be remembered, and/or a quote from a favorite song/movie/bible verse/etc. that means something important to you, and/or a charity you’d like people to support].
