Linda Marie Spaugh

Funeral Services for Linda Marie Spaugh, 84, will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Seaton officiating.

Linda went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2023, in Brandon, FL. Linda was born on April 26, 1939, to George M. and Cornelia Murrel Pennington in Goree, TX. She was best known for her roles as Mom, Meme, and Angel. Linda worked at Levi Strauss for several years as Executive Secretary and was loved by all of her coworkers. Many of them became very dear friends.

Her activities were chauffeuring around her 5 children. She played so hard with her grandbabies and nieces and nephews. Linda loved riding dirt bikes, playing the bass guitar, water skiing, tennis and puzzles. She could never pass up a chance to smile at a child and wanted to pick them up for a hug. 

Linda is preceded in death by her parents George M. and Cornelia Murrel Pennington; stepmother Tess Pennington; brother Lynn Pennington; sister Sharon Shaw; grandson Chase McAlister; great-granddaughter Reed Dillard; and companion Clayton Feigel.

Linda is survived by her son Coy Hopson and his wife Sharon of Valrico, FL; daughter Dianna McAlister; son Chuck Spaugh; daughter Lisa Dillard; and daughter Libby Williams and husband Darby of Lubbock; grandchildren Jack, Cassie, Derek, Jami, Rachel, Kati, Travis, Chet, Chance, Tucker, Charlie, and Trenna; great-grandchildren Karis, Ian, Davis, Braelyn, Drew, Lysander, Briseida, Sylvia June, Layla, Macon, Bliss, and Molly; brothers Coy Pennington and wife Vi, Allan Baggett and wife Kathy, and Terry Pennington and wife Sandy.
