Margaret Gonzales

Funeral services for Margaret Gonzales, 75, will be held at 10 am Thursday, January 16, 2020, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Jose Kochuparambil officiating. Burial will follow in the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

A rosary will be held at 6 pm Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Margaret passed away on January 14, 2020. She was born on July 20, 1944, in Karnes City to Santiago and Gabriela Martinez. Margaret was married to Robert G. Gonzales for 53 years. They were married on April 6, 1966, in Brownfield at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Margaret loved to sew, quilt, and decorate cakes for people. She loved to sing in the St. Helena Catholic Church Choir in Hobbs, NM. Everyone that knew her knew she loved Elvis.

Margaret is preceded in death by her father, Santiago Martinez, and grandson, Jacob Chavez.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Robert G.; her mother, Gabriela Martinez; 5 children, Elva Morgan and husband T.C., Darlene, Bobby Gonzales and wife Brenda, Gerald Gonzales and wife Annette, Gracie Chavez and husband Adam; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Jimmy Martinez and wife Olga; and sister Rosemary Coffer and husband Greg.
