Maria Teresa Villegas, 53, of Brownfield, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2025. Maria was born on May 8, 1971, in Brownfield, TX. She was the beloved daughter of Jose Angel Medina Sr. and Eloisa M. Medina, both of Brownfield. Maria lived her entire life in her hometown, surrounded by the family and friends she cherished deeply.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at Brownfield Funeral Home, with Rosary at 6:00 pm. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield, with Father John Ohlig officiating, where loved ones will gather to celebrate her life.
Maria found joy in life's simple pleasures: watching WWE with her parents, savoring her mom's caldo de res, listening to music, and playing games on her tablet. She loved scrapbooking and staying connected with family and friends, especially Annette Cruz. Maria may not have had children, but she loved all her nieces and nephews as her own. She enjoyed playing pool, spending time with family, and playing games. She had to have a large sweet tea with extra ice from Sonic. Known for her playful spirit, she enjoyed lighthearted "fights" with her cousins, the Garcia brothers. Maria's warmth and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Maria is preceded in death by her grandparents, Emilio and Jesus Mendez and Pablo and Rafaela Medina. She is survived by a loving family, including her siblings: Isabel Segovia (husband Luis) of Pflugerville, TX; Jose Angel Medina Jr. (fiancée Delia Godino) of Plainview, TX; Kristina Garcia of Brownfield, TX; Marcela Medina (fiancé John Casillas); Fabian Medina (girlfriend Clarissa Campbell) of Alamo, TX; and Gabriella Medina of Pflugerville, TX, Esmeralda Medina Midland, TX. She was a proud aunt to 9 nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-nephews.
