We mourn the loss but celebrate the life of Mario Galindo Luna, who passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on January 31, 1954, in Sonora, Texas, Mario was the son of Alberto and Dora Luna. Maria Louisa Luna was his loving wife who preceded him in death.
Mario made a great impact on the world around him with his hard work and a kind smile. He worked as a contractor and loved to put his heart into painting. This dedication earned him great respect among his colleagues and clients.
Outside of work, he found escape through his love of music, often playing guitar and singing during his free time. Mario's enthusiasm for music spread to others around him as he serenaded family and friends on countless occasions.
Mario will be missed dearly by those who knew him best. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Luna Zapata; grandchildren Zavana Routon, Zelyn Zapata and Zachary Zapata; great-granddaughter Adelina Routon; sisters Yolanda Gonzales, Grace Garcia and Norma Serbantez; brothers Robert Luna and Ray Luna - our thoughts are with Mario's surviving family members during this difficult time.
Mario will be dearly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him during his life. His impact on the community and unremitting kindness has made him a friend to many. We take comfort in his memory as we bid him a final farewell.
Viewing will be held from 10 am to 8 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home. Graveside service for family and friends will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Brownfield Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Cargile officiating.
