Mary Janelle (Parks) Cobb

Mary Janelle (Parks) Cobb, age 85, of Plains, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Frisco, Texas. She was born June 16, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Neil and Mary Lou (Wolfenberger) Parks. Janelle married the love of her life, Clemmie Jack Cobb, in Plains, Texas, on July 7, 1962, and they were blessed with three daughters.

Janelle was a 1957 graduate of Plains High School and obtained her bachelor's degree from Howard Payne University. She taught elementary school in Plains ISD for 22 years. Janelle was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, an accomplished and highly skilled seamstress, and an amazing example of kindness to all who were blessed to know her. Along with her husband, Jack, they faithfully invested in their grandchildren, creating a deep and cherished legacy by nurturing them with patience, grace, and, above all else, love.

Janelle is survived by her three daughters, Kristi Swinnea and her husband, Matt, of McKinney, Karen McMinn and her husband, Shane, of Canyon, and Kemi Mayes, of Carrollton; her seven grandchildren, Easton Swinnea, Emily (Collin) Britt, Ellie Swinnea, Brighton McMinn, Brailey (Juan) Ramirez, Brecklyn McMinn, and Ian Mayes; her great-granddaughter, Teloa Britt; and her brother, Dr. Weldon Parks of Gainesville.

She is preceded in death by Jack, her beloved husband of almost 60 years, her parents, and her sisters Kittie Armstrong and Lela Warren.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Plains, Texas, on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
