Funeral Services for Melvin “Bill” Russell McKee will be held 2 pm Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, April 24, 2015.
Bill went to be with his Lord Thursday, April 23, 2015 in Brownfield. He was born to Clifton and Zelma Brasher McKee on July 8, 1937. Bill attended Brownfield High School. He married Melba Phillips on December 14, 1956 in Brownfield. Bill was a mechanic for over 50 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Bill loved to collect coins and baseball caps, fishing, playing 42, and his dog, Chase. He was very outgoing and loved to laugh. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alton McKee, and step grandson, Jerry Powers.
Bill is survived by his wife, Melba McKee; son, Russ McKee and wife, Shannon, of Brownfield; 3 daughters, Angie Taylor and husband, Russell, of Brownfield, Marla Powers and husband, Jimmy of Wellman, Janet Johnson and husband, Johnny, of Conroe; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Walter McKee and wife, Carol, of Mt. Pleasant, Calvin McKee of Austin; 2 sisters, Ann Nipp of Cleburne, Faye Little and husband, Lloyd, of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Lela McKee of Brownfield; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
