Michael Russ Barber, 52, of Dallas passed away Monday, January 24, 2011 in Dallas. Services will be 2pm, Friday, January 28, 2011 at Brownfield First Baptist Church with Dr. Carl Moman officiating. Burial will be in Gaines County Memorial Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Michael was born December 16, 1958 in Seminole, Texas to Robert and Barbara Barber. He attended and graduated from High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. He received an Associate Degree in Accounting at South Plains College where he graduated with honors and made the Dean’s list. Michael received his B. S. Degree from the University of Texas, Arlington. He then received his Masters from the University of Wyoming. He was an A.A. Instructor. Michael loved his cats, reading and studying.
Michael is survived by his mother, Barbara Chidester and husband Jess of Brownfield; his father Robert R. Barber of Rawley, NC; a step brother, Jay Chidester of Dallas; a step sister, Dereesa Reid and husband Jim of Lubbock; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
