Monty Ray Lambert

Monty Ray Lambert, 70, was born on May 14, 1953, and passed away on December 30, 2023, in Wellman. 

Monty's family meant the world to him, and his devotion to his beloved wife, Deborah, was unwavering. They shared a lifetime of precious memories together, creating a bond that could never be broken. Monty's role as a father was equally significant, as he nurtured and guided his children with unwavering love and care.

In his professional life, Monty served as the Transportation Director at Wellman-Union School District for 30 years. His dedication and expertise made him an invaluable asset to the organization, leaving a lasting impact on the students and staff. 

Outside of work, Monty found solace and joy in fishing, which became his cherished pastime. Whether casting a line at a nearby lake or simply spending time with his family by the water's edge, Monty had a wonderful influence on his children and grandchildren.

Monty's compassionate spirit extended beyond his immediate family as he formed lifelong friendships with those lucky enough to know him. Monty will be remembered for his ability to make everyone feel welcome and his genuine desire to uplift and support those around him.

Monty is survived by his wife Deborah Allyson Lambert; 2 children Lori Michelle and husband Clayton Brian Webster and James Clinton and wife Laura Ashley Lambert; 9 grandchildren Taylor Dawn and Dennis Ray Kirkland, Kelsey Danielle Fulford, Karli Ann Lambert, Tucker James and Katelyn Grace Lambert, Allyson Daci Fulford, Emilie D'Lynn Fulford, Drew Brian Webster, Charlie Cuen Webster, and Casey James Webster; 4 great-grandchildren Lawson Chase Fulford, Bryson Monty Kirkland, Rylan Dennis Kirkland, and Deklan Ray Kirkland; and a sister Trudie Mae and husband James Mac Miller.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Children's Miracle Network.

The family will have private services for Monty.
