Services for Olivia T. Ruiz, 80, of Brownfield will be held at 10am Monday, January 25, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Teo officiating. Burial will follow in the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Rosary will be from 6pm to 8pm Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Olivia was born in Thorndale on December 7, 1935. She attended school in Brownfield. Olivia married Daniel Ruiz on July 21, 1951 in Brownfield. She worked in the cafeteria for the Brownfield Independent school district for 13 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Guadalapana. Olivia Ruiz was a mother, Grandmother, but most importantly a strong woman of God. Her love and care were evident in her smile and loving actions toward her children. Her constant support and loving embraces were felt by all her grandchildren and gave comfort in times of need. She will be missed but never forgotten. For she taught us how to love and care for each other; a lesson we will pass on to our families forever. Olivia is preceded in death by a sister, Julia Ruiz, her mother, Antonia Galvan, three brothers Mario, Richard and Juan Galvan, stepfather, Santos Galvan, and brother-in-law, Benito Ruiz.

Olivia is survived by her husband, Daniel Ruiz of Brownfield; 8 children, Yolanda Casados of Lubbock, Rita Morin and husband, Adam, of Lubbock, Betty Martinez and husband, David, of Brownfield, Roger Ruiz and wife, Monica, of Brownfield, Daniel Ruiz Jr. and wife, Sonia, of Brownfield, Toni Gonzales and husband, Paul, of Brownfield, Raymond Ruiz and wife, Anjelica, of Brownfield, Irene Perales and husband, Daniel, of San Antonio; 35 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Delia Lopez and husband, Leo, of Hobbs NM, Angie Ruiz of Brownfield, Linda Salazar and husband, Fidencio, of Brownfield; 3 brothers, Antonio Galvan and wife, Connie, of Odessa, Jerry Galvan of Odessa, Santos Galvan Jr. and wife ,Alma, of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Josie Villalobos of California; brother-in-law, Felix Ruiz and wife, Reyna, of Houston;2 great aunts, Carmen Alonzo of Washington, Susie Miranda of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
