Services for Oscar Leon Lewis, 82, formerly of Plains will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Leon's family will receive
visitors an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Oscar Leon Lewis went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 25.
He was born Easter Sunday, April 17, 1927 in Brownfield, Texas to Clyde and Ora Lewis. He graduated from Brownfield High School. He received his Masters from Texas Tech University. He was a U.S. Army and Navy Veteran. Leon taught for many years in the Plains ISD. He was an avid golfer and collected six holes-in-one during his career. He is preceded in death by two sons, Clarence Leon and William Deverelle Lewis; a sister, Vondee Moore.

Leon is survived by his son, Ceth and wife Jerra and their children, Hayes and Jessa of Ft. Worth; his daughter, Amantha Strawn and husband Herb of Plains and her children Stephen of Brownwood, Clarence, Elizabeth, Aron and Darryl of Plains; two brothers, Bobby Lewis and Deverelle Lewis of Lubbock; a sister, Elray McKinney of Lubbock; numerous loving nieces and nephews.
