Paulita Medellin Aguirre

Funeral Service for Paulita Medellin Aguirre will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father John Ohlig officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Brownfield Funeral Home, with Rosary at 6:00 pm.

Paulita was born on October 10, 1945, to Guadalupe & Maria Rivera Medellin in Donna, TX. She passed away on August 31, 2024, at the age of 78.

A hardworking and dedicated individual, Paulita spent over two decades working tirelessly as an agricultural labor contractor, arranging work opportunities for countless individuals in her community. Her commitment and diligence in this field touched the lives of many and set an example of hard work and determination.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Paulita was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love knew no bounds. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, excelling in the kitchen as she prepared delicious meals for her loved ones. In moments of leisure, she would often be found crocheting, watching old Western films, or enjoying episodes of the classic television series, Bonanza. Paulita could also be found spending time at the slot machines, as she would always say, “Let’s go try our luck at the ching-chings!”

Paulita was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Maria Rivera Medellin; husband, Manuel Aguirre; son, Agapito Fuentes, Sr.; daughter, Frederica Fuentes; grandson, Christopher Eric Garcia; brother, Francisco Medellin; brother-in-law, Servero Peña; and son-in-law, Jesse Perez.

Left to cherish her memory are 4 sons, Antonio Fuentes and wife, Margarita, Jaime Fuentes, Joe Aguirre all of Brownfield, and Gregory and wife, Tina of Toppenish, WA; 2 daughters, Janie Garcia and Francis "Kika" Fuentes Perez of Brownfield; sister, Luz Peña of San Juan, TX; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
