Richard Alan Henry

Richard Alan Henry, 62, of Huntsville passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Meadow. Graveside Services with Military Honors will follow at Meadow Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at “www.brownfieldfuneralhome.com”

Rich was born on January 13, 1948 to Morris and Pearl Inez Neil Henry. He graduated high school at Malvern, PA and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was in the U.S. Army from 1968 until 1972 where he served in Vietnam for 13 months. He joined the Air Force as enlisted and went on to officers training and made Captain before retiring. During his time in service he lived in Ohio, Hawaii, Alaska, Texas and several others states. He then worked for Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he worked his way up to Director of Engineering for Facilities Division in Huntsville. He was an active member of Covenant Fellowship Church. Rich was preceded in death by his father, Morris Henry, and brother, Wayne Henry.

Rich is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryl of Huntsville; one daughter, Jennifer Henry and fiancé, Richard Hazekamp of Bayonne, NJ; four sons, Richard Henry, Jr. and fiancé Rachel Crawley of Dallas, Phil Kirk and wife Cindy of Lubbock, Jeff Kirk and wife Cristy of Lubbock, Brandon Kirk and Wife Renee of Lubbock; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Kirk, Mike Kirk, Brad Kirk, Jessica Kirk, Taegan Kirk, Clifton Kirk, Daygan Kirk and Sylvana Henry; mother, Pearl Emery of Bloomsburg PA; brother, Barry Henry and wife JoAnn of VA; and mother-in –law, Z. Maxine Cato of Lubbock.

The family asks that memorials be made to Covenant Fellowship Building Fund, 1211 Financial Plaza, Huntsville, TX 77340 “[emailprotected]” or Charity of your choice.

A memorial service will also be held in Huntsville at the Elkins Lake Baptist Church on June 15 with Rev. Jerry Phillips and Rev. David Valentine presiding.
