Celebration of Life for Rickey Gene Brock will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Eddie Joe’s Barn, 1701 E. Main, Brownfield, TX.
Rickey was born on January 22, 1953, to Shell and Hazel Brock in Brownfield, TX, and was married to his devoted wife, Kathy, since September 5, 1969. He passed away on September 15, 2024, at the age of 71.
Rickey owned and operated Brownfield Printing & Office Supply, a business that became an important part of the community. He also worked for Lamesa Printing & Office Supply. Rickey was a committed public servant who served with the Volunteer Fire Department, earning recognition as Fireman of the Year for his selfless efforts in protecting his fellow citizens. Additionally, Rickey worked as a jailer for the Terry County Sheriff’s Department and later found fulfillment working part-time at Southwest Cotton Growers and Printing By Paul.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, Shell and Hazel Brock; brothers, Bobby and Paul Brock; sister, Rachelle Brock; in-laws; Adrian and Alta Kornegay; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Howell and Mary Brock.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Brock; children; Sheila Cooper and husband Eddie Joe and Doug Brock and wife Tausha; grandchildren, Charise Brock, Summer Felton and husband Casey, and Braylee Brock; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Laken, Aspen, Braylin and Bennet; brother-in-law Dale Howell, and sister-in-law Norma Brock.
The family would like to thank Interim Hospice, especially Sherry and the girls that took care of Rickey.
